Kuldesak
Synopsis
Kuldesak is a film on the lives and problems of young urbans of the 90s in Jakarta. It is a mixture of comedy, drama and action. The film mainly deals with how one struggles to achieve one’s dream or happiness and confronts changes of values in a modern city dwelling.
Aksan, a young man who wants to make a film so badly, but doesn’t have the money. His father, a wealthy businessman, doesn’t agree let alone support his son’s dream of being a filmmaker. In all desperation, he decides to steal money from his father to make his dream come true.
Andre, is a young musician who is never happy with his life. His superstition drives him to believe a fortune teller who foresees a happy change in his life. While he awaits his destiny, he found out that his rock idol, Kurt Cobain, comitted suicide.
Dina, is a lonely and isolated young woman, lives an existence filled with images about a popular video jockey named Max Mollo. Fact and fiction is all a blur to her as she goes through the motion in life.
Lina, is a hard working advertising executive. She is being pressured by her superior to work overtime. One late evening, Lina was raped at the office. Out of hatred, she decides to take revenge into her own hands.
In Jakarta, four young people are facing different situations in their lives. These circumstances demand them to make a choice.
