Founded in 1995, MILES Filmsis an award-winning Indonesian production company known for its high-quality coming-of-age films with strong musical elements. Its first two highly successful feature films, Petualangan Sherina (2000) and Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (2002) prompted the birth of a new generation of moviegoers that embraces Indonesian cinema.
In more than two decades, Miles has produced a wide variety of films, from box-office hits to art house feature films, documentaries, shorts, as well as TV and web series. Miles has worked not only with local production companies, but also international companies—such as CJ Entertainment and SK Global, and more recently with Barunson E&A and Primeworks Studios. Since its establishment, Miles has also been a place where young filmmakers learn filmmaking. Many well-known Indonesian filmmakers today have worked with Miles Films in their early years working in the film industry.
Last year the company announced its five upcoming projects: BUNGA MALAM (Flower of The Night)—written and directed by Kamila Andini, and produced by Mira Lesmana, CUBS— a collaboration with Forka Films, directed by Riri Riza and produced by Ifa Isfansyah, HILANG DI REMBANG (Missing in Rembang)—produced by young producers Aditya Murti and Raka Kertanegara, NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK —a collaboration with Kaninga Pictures directed by Teddy Soeriaatmadja, and the first released, on October 2, 2025: RANGGA & CINTA–the rebirth of the famous ADA APA DENGAN CINTA?, featuring talented young actors, directed by Riri Riza and produced by Mira Lesmana & Nicholas Saputra.
