Eliana, Eliana

Pride and compassion on taxi ride

Eliana, Eliana depicts a one-night journey of Eliana, and her mother, Bunda.

Five years earlier, Eliana escaped from home to live in Jakarta. One day, when she has just lost her job and gets an eviction notice from her landlord, Bunda comes with two airplane tickets, determined to take Eliana home to her hometown, Padang.

Trying to prove her independence, Eliana takes a tour around the city in a taxi, looking for her housemate Heni (Henidar Amroe). Bunda gets dragged along for the ride. The one-night journey turns out to be a revelation of many things for the mother and daughter; their past, their present relationship, and their future.
